"I turned over my wooden bed frame and the entire underside was covered with bed bugs. I sprayed them with your Bed Bug Spray and they were all dead within a minute. And now my bed frame has a nice smell of cedar. Next, I have to treat my carpets with your Bed Bug Powder."
Claire, HI
"I took my Mom to the Senior Center and the nurse was picking bed bugs off a man's shirt. I told the nurse they had to wash everything with the Cedar Laundry Additive or else I would not bring my Mom in again. i think if everybody washed their clothes with the Laundry Additive they wouldn't be spreading bed bugs."

Here are the products you will need:
Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder
Cedar Bug-Free™ Laundry Additive
Bed Bug Covers for your Mattress and Box Springs
Each contains No Poisons/No Harmful Chemicals
Together they give you a long-lasting solution
Safe to use in your home, in hotels, group homes, shelters, restaurants, retail stores and commercial centers.
In order to understand why our non-toxic treatment works, there are two things you need to understand. The first thing is that most poisonous chemicals don’t stay active long enough to end a bed bug infestation. The bed bug reproductive cycle can last five to six weeks, and stragglers can continue to come out of walls for many weeks more, but most products only last a few days.
Our non-toxc products can safely remain in the home for long periods of time – long enough to kill the bed bugs that will emerge weeks later!
The second thing to understand is the reason most poisonous chemicals last only a short time. They have to be made that way. If they stayed toxic longer there would be even more health problems from their use. That’s because poisonous pesticides work by disrupting the nervous system of the pest, but then that’s how they also harm people and pets. In fact, some populations of bed bugs have developed resistance to common poisonous pesticides, making some sprays ineffective.
Our non-toxic products don’t attack the nervous system. The Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder sticks to the outer skeleton of the bed bugs and dehydrates and suffocates them. It does the same thing to fleas, ticks and any other bugs in the carpet and furniture. It’s completely safe for people and pets.
The Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Spray is a cedar oil based spray that also does not attack the nervous system. For people and pets, the spray makes the area smell like a cedar closet for a short time, but insects, such as bed bugs, fleas, ticks, roaches, ants, spiders, all of them, hate the smell of cedar. When they are exposed to Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Spray, the smell of cedar overwhelms their respiratory system forcing them to close their breathing pores (spiracles). In effect, they hold their breath until they die.
The Cedar Oil and Hydrated Silica in Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Spray also dissolves the eggs and larvae, thus eliminating the next generation of insects. The cedar smell also disrupts the pheromone signals of the bed bugs so their friends are not drawn to the treated areas.
Experts agree that bed bug infestations are difficult to control and no one treatment or technique has been found to be effective in all cases. Still, bed bugs can be controlled through a combination of techniques known as integrated pest management (IPM), such as our 4-Step Program – an environmentally sensitive approach that includes prevention, monitoring, and the use of non-toxic pesticides.
Step 1: Prepare the room for treatment and wash everything with Cedar Bug-Free™ Laundry Additive
Work in one room at a time. Clear out all clutter (or as much as you can). Bed bugs hide in clutter and you will need to move small items off the floor and out from under the bed to get the most from treating the flooring and baseboards.
It’s very important to wash all bedding and clothing to kill bed bugs that hide in the fabric. Regular home washing and drying – even in hot water – won’t kill them because the water does not get hot enough and neither does the dryer. Cedar Bug-Free™ Laundry Additive kills bed bugs in the wash even in cold water.
Step 2: Treat carpets and rugs with Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder
Bed bugs often make their home in carpets and rugs. Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder is easy to apply, it kills the bed bugs that are hiding in the carpets and rugs, and will continue to kill them for up to one year. This is a very important step because bed bugs lay their eggs in carpeting and those eggs will hatch in a few days or weeks. Once they hatch and are exposed to the Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder, they will die before they have a chance to reproduce.
Be sure to also treat between your mattress and box spring, upholstered furniture, and between the box spring and the bed frame.
The tools you will need are:
Common kitchen strainer
Broom or push broom
Dust mask
For more information see our detailed Application Instructions.
If you don’t have carpeting or large area rugs, you still have some choices:
Many customers buy inexpensive rugs or carpet remnants and keep them powdered until their bed bug problem is over. This is a good choice.
If you don’t want to do that, then be sure to powder around all the baseboards, cracks and crevices, under the beds and furniture, and in furniture coasters or paper plates under each of the bed legs.
You can also sprinkle the Bed Bug Powder all over your floors and live with white dusty floors for a couple of months. It may not be pretty but it is effective.
Step 3: Bed Bug Covers
The proper mattress and box spring encasements will prevent any bed bugs that are living inside your bed from coming out, and any others from getting into your bed looking for places to hide and breed. Even if you get rid of your bed, you still need to cover the new bed in order to keep it from getting infested!
Very important: be sure to buy the proper bed bug encasements. Buying the wrong ones is worse than wasting your money because you will be relying on the encasement to protect you and the wrong ones will fail. There are a lot of places where you can buy Bed Bug covers today. We have tested a lot of different covers and know the ones that will work for you. If you buy yours elsewhere, that’s fine, just be careful to buy the best quality possible. And buy those rated for Bed Bugs!
Step 4: Spray your furniture with Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Spray
Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Spray is safe for use on furniture, clothing, bedding, even on paper and books. It’s completely non-staining.
You will want to spray the sides of your mattresses, your headboard, and other hiding places close to your bed each evening. This, along with the powder in Step 2, will deter even the most determined bed bug from climbing into bed with you.
Bed bugs love to hide along the edges and in the cracks and crevices of furniture, in dresser drawers, in storage boxes, in books on the bookshelf and even in the clothes and shoes in your closet! These are places which you probably will not be powdering so it’s imperative that you spray them regularly with Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Spray. A misting with this natural, non-toxic, powerful product kills bed bugs on contact and the cedar oil helps condition your wooden furniture.
Since bed bugs have a long reproductive cycle and they are masters of concealment, you will see stragglers for weeks and even months. Remember, they can be breeding inside the walls and it can take them a couple of months before they start coming out looking for a blood meal. Keep a vigilant eye for them daily and shoot them with Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Spray!
